A Helper is someone who has volunteered to be listed as available to help
others. Helpers are expected to assist other users to the best of
their ability. They are also listed on the
Who Can
Help Me Online? page.
We prefer that applicants are at least somewhat familiar with the use of
our IRC system, as well as basic (and advanced) services commands and
usage. It is important to understand that this does not give you Oper
access, however, it can possibly lead there. Potential Opers are encouraged
to become a Helper to show they are the right stuff to become Opers.
Showing a willingness to help other users is a quality we look for in an
Oper.
Only applicants that have registered their nick with NickServ, and
have recently been online at JetIRC.net, will be considered. Do not
bother to apply if you do not meet this criteria.
If Users ask any questions you cannot answer, please refer them upward to
an Oper, don't just leave them hanging. We encourage referrals to
this website, for help, as well.
